Business Banker - Capital City Bank - More than your bank, Your Banker.

General Summary         

This position delivers a full range of banking services to businesses and business owners and places emphasis on client contact, sales, and service. The position requires significant outside business development activities. This position requires the associate to drive on behalf of the Bank and the associate must adhere to Bank's Motor Vehicle Guidelines. Compliance with the S.A.F.E. Act, registration in the NMLS Registry is required.

This position requires the associate to drive on behalf of the Bank and the associate must adhere to Bank's Motor Vehicle Guidelines (may require increased minimum limits and therefore an increase in premiums.)

All associates at Capital City Bank have access to confidential client information, and must practice discretion at all times.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for loan production, fees, deposits, and referrals each incentive period.  Goals will be provided.
  • Operates with various degrees of authority and specialization.
  • Responsible for calling on retail clients and prospects with revenues less than $3 Million and loan opportunities of $800,000 or less.  (This is a guideline as there is no cap on client revenue when prospecting).
  • Build and maintain quality portfolios that bring revenue to the Bank.
  • Support of overall bank production goals as outlined by MAP targets and scorecards.
  • Responsible for sales and service of existing businesses and business owners within the departmental portfolio.
  • Responsible for identifying business production and business partner and loan referrals.
  • Meets with clients to discuss small business needs and recommends ways in which the bank can serve their needs. 
  • Proactive business development and calling within assigned market areas.
  • Partners with assigned Client Experience Managers.
  • Cross sells a full range of small business banking services and products through joint efforts with Business Partners to present to potential clients.
  • Active community participation and visibility.

All associates must understand and adhere to the non-negotiable Banker Standards and commit to practicing SGNNT at all times. Associates will consistently follow policies and procedures as established by Capital City Bank, with department managers setting the standard.

Associated Duties

  •  Provides additional support to manager and department colleagues. 
  • Partners with assigned Client Service Managers and designated Business Partners.
  • Completes all assigned/required Bank training within established timelines.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA) Required

The following KSA’s are usually acquired through specialized business training course(s) and related experience:

  1. Credit and financial analysis
  2. Loan and credit structuring
  3. Loan documentation and loan closing processes
  4. Specific product knowledge related to Cash Management products and business loan products
  5. Knowledge of Consumer and Business banking products/product sales
  6. Excellent oral and written communication skills
  7. Microsoft Office Suite
  8. Must adhere to Bank's Motor Vehicle Guidelines.
  9. Compliance with the S.A.F.E. Act, registration in the NMLS Registry is required.

Individual will have existing proficiency or an ability to promptly learn the following Capital City Bank operating software applications:

  1. Jack Henry SilverLake
  2. Baker Hill One Point
  3. Synergy
  4. AFS Envision Image Depot
  5. Others as required

Education

  • Four-year college degree required; significant relevant work experience may be substituted for education. Seasoned professional with minimum of 3-5 years experience. Commercial or Savings Bank experience in lending, operations, deposit management, administration, and/or cash management preferred.

Working Conditions

  1. Professional office and fast-paced environment.
  2. After hours civic and business development participation may be required.
  3. Frequent out-of-office visits to clients.
  4. Limited travel to surrounding markets
  5. Driving as required by position.
  6. In the rare instance of a major or extensive natural disaster, epidemic or pandemic occurrence, or other disruption within our footprint, it may be necessary for associates to relocate or telecommute before, during or after, to ensure business continuity.
