The Bridges and Structures Practice is seeking a Sr CAD Technician in Seattle, WA.

We’re looking for a skilled Sr CAD Technician who thrives in a collaborative environment and is excited to contribute to the design and construction of vital transportation structures—bridges, tunnels, retaining walls, and more. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, using cutting-edge tools and software to turn concepts into reality.

What You’ll Do

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce detailed CADD drawings, layouts, and graphics for a variety of transportation structures including reinforced concrete, pre-stressed concrete, and steel designs.
  • Translate engineering markups into polished construction documents, maintaining precision and consistency.
  • Use state-of-the-art software such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, Power InRoads, Civil3D and Open Roads Designer.
  • Support design tasks under the direction of licensed engineers using industry standards such as AASHTO.
  • Maintain structured drawing files, adhere to company drafting standards, and support project-specific standards as needed.
  • Collaborate through file-sharing systems like ProjectWise and participate in quality assurance reviews.
  • Track quantities, update contract drawings, and contribute to project success within scope, budget, and schedule.

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of drafting experience with a focus on bridge or structural engineering projects.
  • Associate of Applied Science in Civil Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field.
  • Proficiency in Power InRoads, MicroStation/open Roads, and/or AutoCAD/Civil 3D.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with transportation projects and/or Washington State Department of Transportation, local city and county projects.
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for precision.
