Position Summary:
As an Inventory Planning Specialist at DeLaval, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our products are available to meet customer needs while optimizing inventory costs. You will manage purchase orders, communicate with suppliers, and analyze inventory reports to identify areas for improvement. Your efforts will directly contribute to our mission of delivering Total Customer Experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain MRP parameters based on market intelligence and historical usage.
- Set optimal stock levels to balance availability with inventory costs.
- Create and manage purchase orders with suppliers based on demand forecasts.
- Communicate with suppliers to review lead-times and ensure timely deliveries.
- Analyze inventory reports to address shortages, slow movers, and obsolescence.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, production, logistics, and sourcing teams.
Required Skills and Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferred
- 1+ years of experience in an inventory planning role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, experience with V-Look Ups and Pivot Tables desired.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Experience in production planning and SAP is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to understand the big picture.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and perform under deadlines.
- Self-motivated with excellent teamwork and conflict resolution skills.
