Community-Based Family Services Administrative Assistant

JOB TITLE: Community-Based Family Services Administrative Assistant
JOB POSTING:
REQUIRED EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or GED with 2-3 years� experience related to responsibilities specified.
- Knowledge of electronic health care systems, clinical documentation, and standards.
- Familiar with DSM and ICD-10 codes
- Previous experience with identifying insurance benefits and collecting payments.
- Knowledge of insurance and state funded terminology
- Basic computer skills including Excel
POSITION HIGHLIGHTS:
- Work and have a vast understanding of multiple EMR�s that each department utilizes and coordinates with agency EMR.
- Performs a variety of secretarial and administrative support duties (taking referrals, communicating with community partners, fax and scan, etc.)
- Assisting the staff of CBFS in daily procedures.
- Complete client intake paperwork including insurance information to determine mental health benefits; if client is uninsured, determine eligibility for state funding.
- Prepare financial agreements and obtain client signatures.
- Review clinical documentation for completeness, accuracy, and ensure proper coding prior to processing electronic claims.
- Monitor all electronic medical record systems for completion, compliance. Each record meeting CARF and Medicaid standards in each EMR and other state databases.
- Knowledge of all CBFS programs
- Communicate and educate providers and/or managers when coding errors are identified and/or when payer requirements change as it relates to coding.
- Manages assigned company owned vehicles to ensure safe operating conditions
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- General knowledge of office practice and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and by telephone.
- Ability to operate any office machines required by the position such as computer and printer, typewriter, calculator and other equipment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Ability to arrange and place records, reports and files into proper sequence.
- Ability to gather and give basic information and instructions on agency programs and services based on inquiries.
- Willingness to work with clients who have special needs and interact with them professionally.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Working knowledge and ability to use correct grammar, vocabulary and spelling.
- Working knowledge of arithmetic and its uses in general office work.
- Must be able to physically perform the basic life operational functions of stooping, standing, walking, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
- Must be able to perform sedentary work exerting up to ten (10) pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
- Must posses the visual acuity to prepare and analyze data and figures, operate a computer and do extensive reading.
- Valid Driver's License
