AttainX is seeking a highly experienced Senior Integration Test Engineer to join our USDA Farm Loan Programs Modernization and Maintenance (FLPMM) initiative. This senior role is responsible for validating complex system interactions across multiple applications, platforms, and services within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe 6.0) environment.
The Senior Integration Test Engineer ensures that new capabilities and features integrate seamlessly across the USDA ecosystem, meet defined quality standards, and align with business objectives and the Product Manager’s vision. This role emphasizes built-in quality practices, continuous integration, and end-to-end validation to support large-scale modernization efforts in AWS-native and hybrid environments.
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related discipline.
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in software quality assurance, including at least 3+ years in integration/system-level testing in complex enterprise environments.
- Demonstrated experience in federal IT modernization programs with multiple systems, interfaces, and dependencies.
- Expertise in testing APIs, middleware, data exchanges, and system workflows across legacy and cloud-native applications.
- Proficiency in test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cucumber, REST Assured, Postman) and CI/CD integration (Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS pipelines).
- Familiarity with defect tracking and Agile planning tools (e.g., Jira, Xray, TestRail).
- Solid understanding of SAFe 6.0 principles, particularly “Build-in Quality,” “Apply Systems Thinking,” and “Organize Around Value.”
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills; ability to translate technical issues into business impacts.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident with ability to obtain/maintain a Public Trust clearance.

- Grounded in SAFe Lean-Agile principles with a focus on value delivery, early feedback, and quality at scale.
- Ability to balance technical depth with business awareness, ensuring testing outcomes align with USDA mission objectives.
- Proactive problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate integration risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Integration Test Strategy & Execution
- Develop and execute comprehensive integration test plans to validate interoperability across applications, databases, APIs, and services.
- Ensure coverage of end-to-end workflows that reflect real business scenarios and user journeys.
- Establish traceability from Epics → Features → Stories → Test Cases, ensuring full coverage per SAFe 6.0 best practices.
- Built-in Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Partner with Product Managers, Architects, and DevOps engineers to ensure quality is embedded at every step of the development process.
- Apply automated regression and integration testing within CI/CD pipelines to detect issues early.
- Monitor quality metrics (defect leakage, code coverage, system reliability) and ensure compliance with USDA Quality Assurance standards .
- Collaboration & Alignment with Vision
- Work with Product Managers to understand business goals and validate that integrated solutions meet desired outcomes.
- Support PI Planning, Iteration Reviews, and System Demos by providing evidence of integration readiness and validation results.
- Collaborate with development teams, Scrum Masters, and Release Train Engineers to remove blockers and improve delivery flow.
- Defect Management & Reporting
- Identify, log, and manage integration-related defects through to resolution.
- Analyze defect trends to provide proactive feedback for architecture and design improvements.
- Contribute to quarterly reporting by providing objective evidence of quality performance.
- Mentorship & Leadership
- Serve as a senior member of the QA function, mentoring junior testers on integration best practices.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, automation adoption, and quality accountability across ARTs.
Non-Essential Functions: General Duty Requirements.
Work Location:
Shall perform all functional and technical tasks remotely, hybrid work environment with occasional travel for client engagement, industry events, contract negotiations or at AttainX facility.
