We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst to join our team. This role will report to the CIO / CFO and will be responsible for creating, supporting and maintaining technology solutions, appropriate to business need objectives related to the firm’s financial systems. This position will have primary responsibility for IT Support of accounting and finance applications (Aderant Expert/Aderant Sierra). He/she will interpret, and translate, internal stakeholder strategies into deliverables utilizing financial, business intelligence (BI) and data analytics reporting. It is essential that this person be a self-starter and able to work well both in a team environment and independently. In addition, he/she must be willing to accept ownership of project and be successful in driving those projects, as well as daily tasks, to a successful conclusion. He/she must also demonstrate the ability to manage escalations from tier one/two support and independently solve escalations for final resolution.
In accordance with the firm’s client service initiative, the Business Systems Analyst must display good judgement and effective interpersonal communications. Confidentiality and discretion are required consistently.
Job Functions:
- Provide primary administration and support related to the Aderant billing system.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for all Finance applications working with the Finance team and 3rd party consultants in development/enhancements of finance systems; participate in testing, deployment, and support.
- Coordinate with Finance, IT and Firm Management to prioritize and address issues and objectives for financial/business intelligence.
- Provide 3rd level support/issue resolution for escalations for all Aderant and BI systems.
- Coordinate with database and application administrators on projects integrating with the billing system.
- Serve as the primary strategic resource in the development of technology solutions for internal stakeholders.
- Product support for systems that integrate with the billing platform, including: Chrome River, Bill Blast, New Matter Workflows, Tableau, etc.
- Support of firm internal Sharepoint environment including updates, development, and integrations with internal systems.
- Evaluate and prioritize business requirements based on system viability and design.
- Research and recommend process optimization solutions to enable greater efficiencies via existing and new technologies.
- Provides technical support and respond to production issues; utilize effective troubleshooting techniques and proactively initiate improvements.
- Create and maintain detailed rule and configuration documentation, controls, testing, and governance.
- Develop, and adhere to, rule writing and implementation standards.
- Manage systems, integrations, performance, and user acceptance testing.
- Adhere to policies and procedures governing software application systems used by the firm and its clients.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- SQL Server database management, design, reporting, scripting, and SSRS.
- Aderant Financial Systems Management application integrations and reporting
- Sharepoint Farm management
- Expertise in data structures and algorithms, object-oriented design and design patterns.
- Expertise in scripting technologies, experience with HTML/CSS technologies.
- Expertise in .NET, and capability to learn new languages as needed.
- Extensive experience in API design and implementation.
- Proficient and knowledgeable in various design patterns.
- Experience working on service-oriented architectures and designing software within this context.
- Operational experience with Enterprise Content Management software is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective internal and external client relationships.
- The ability to work concurrently on projects; and the flexibility and dexterity to rapidly shift focus.
- Highly developed organizational and time management skills, and strong attention to detail
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree with experience in the technology field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in a corporate IT role, preferably supporting customizing financial systems and/or building and customizing Business Intelligence/Data Analytics platforms and dashboards.
- Experience with Aderant Expert and/or Aderant Sierra. 3E/Elite experience will also be considered.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and Sharepoint
- Experience with SSRS, Powershell, HTML/CSS, and .NET
- Experience with source control versioning (Git/Github) and publishing SSRS reports form Visual Studio is a plus.
- Familiarity with Tableau, Matillion, or similar products is a plus.
- Experience with Windows Server and Desktop operating systems
- Law firm or professional service firm experience highly desirable
