Position Summary

The Flexo 2nd Helper is responsible for forming finished product onto units for shipment to the customer. This is completed in accordance with the instructions contained in the Factory Job Ticket. The 2nd Helper is also the last line of defense in quality control measures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assists operator with any specific order needs
  • Sets up glue wheel for glue in or glue out, makes sure glue pot is at operational level and ready to run, and ensures glue camera system is clear, clean, and operational
  • Operates the load former, following all customer unitizing instructions (bundle count, layers, stack pattern, and any other special requests)
  • Quality control: the 2nd Helper is the last set of eyes before the unit leaves to be shipped; double checks that product is free of scrap, properly identified, stacked to customer’s request, and meets all specifications on the Factory Job Ticket
  • Relieves 1st Helper for breaks and assists other helpers with any duties such as staging bottom sheets and tie sheets, printing, and staging identification tags prior to run
  • Maintains a clean work area free of trip hazards and spills
  • Ability to work in excess of 40 hours, as business needs arise
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Any other task or duty that is deemed necessary by management.

Work Environment / Physical Demands 

  • Fast paced environment, requiring adaptation to continuous changes in Company, Customer and People needs
  • Ability to frequently stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts
  • Exposure to a loud environment

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • 18 years of age or older
  • GED or high school diploma, 1-3 months experience or combination of education and experience
