Position Summary

Drives gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Examines work order to determine work instructions.
  • Moves levers and presses pedals to drive truck and control movement of lifting apparatus.
  • Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products, or materials or hooks tow trucks to trailer hitch, and transports load to designated area.
  • Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering lifting device.
  • Inventories materials on work floor, and supply workers with materials as needed.
  • Weighs materials or products and records weight and/or quantity on tags, labels, or production schedules.
  • Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting device and trailers.
  • Lubricates truck, recharges batteries, fills fuel tank, or replaces liquefied gas tank.
  • Inspects completed work. 
  • Must observe all safety policies and procedures, including Lock-Out Tag-Out policy
  • Ability to work in excess of 40 hours, as business needs arise
  • Regular and reliable attendance
  • Any other task or duty that is deemed necessary by management.

Work Environment / Physical Demands These will describe the environment they are working in and the potential fit for duty tests required due to lifting and the like. Modify as needed

Fast paced environment, requiring adaptation to continuous changes in Company, Customer and People needs

  • Ability to frequently sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arm’s length, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time at desk in traditional office environment

  • MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • ERP system (such as HRMS, Amtech, Parabox, etc.)

Qualifications

 

Education & Experience:  modify as needed                                                                                                                  

  • GED or High school diploma, preferred
  • 18 years of age or older
  • Forklift Certification
