Description
Kalos Services is seeking a Procurement Assistant to support our Plumbing Services team. In this role, you’ll work with our Department Director to source and purchase pipes, fittings, fixtures, equipment, and subcontracted services essential to plumbing installations and repairs. Your efforts will directly contribute to efficient project execution and customer satisfaction.
Compensation
- Hourly Rate: $22 - $26 per hour (based on experience)
- Bonuses: Discretionary quarterly bonuses based on performance metrics.
Key Metrics for review:
- Accurate Purchasing: Procure materials and commodities at the best possible prices.
- Proactive Planning: Ensure all necessary materials are ordered and available before the project's start date.
- Effective Communication: Maintain clear and proactive communication with superintendents and project managers, keeping them informed about all orders.
- Order Tracking: Accurately track and document all purchase orders.
- Blueprint Review: Assist in reviewing project plans to ensure no items are missed.
Requirements
- Source and evaluate plumbing vendors and material suppliers
- Request, review, and organize supplier quotes for cost and delivery advantages
- Coordinate orders for piping, fixtures, valves, pumps, and related plumbing equipment
- Prepare and process purchase orders, ensuring compliance with company policies
- Track inventory levels to support ongoing and upcoming plumbing projects
- Negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and supplier agreements
- Maintain detailed records of purchases, invoices, deliveries, and vendor performance
- Create procurement activity reports and support budget monitoring
- Ensure compliance with plumbing codes, safety standards, and company policies
- Communicate procurement updates, challenges, or delays to stakeholders and field teams
- Work with Plumbing Supervisors and Project Managers to align procurement with field schedules
- Help verify material quality and resolve discrepancies with vendors
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in procurement processes
- Coordinate with the Warehouse team to review in-house stock and/or identify materials returned from previous projects that can be reused before purchasing new items
Additional Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework preferred
- Previous procurement or inventory experience (plumbing or construction preferred)
- Familiarity with plumbing systems, tools, and material specifications is a plus
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; ERP/procurement software knowledge preferred
- Detail-oriented and reliable in documentation and tracking
- Ability to manage multiple requests and collaborate with different teams
