Job Title: Quality Supervisor
Department: Quality Assurance / Quality Control
Location: Highbridge
Reports To: Quality Manager / Plant Manager
Job Type: Full-time/Exempt 

Position Summary:

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for overseeing quality assurance and quality control processes in our pet food manufacturing facility. This role ensures that all products meet regulatory, safety, and company quality standards. The Quality Supervisor leads a team of specialists, manages quality documentation, supports audits, and collaborates with cross-functional departments to ensure continuous improvement in food safety and product quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise daily QA/QC activities      including in-process checks, product testing, and sanitation verification.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory      requirements such as FDA, USDA, and GMPs.
  • Monitor and enforce food safety      standards including HACCP, SQF
  • Maintain and review documentation      for records, deviations, and corrective actions.
  • Lead internal audits and support      third-party audits and inspections.
  • Investigate and resolve customer      complaints and quality issues in coordination with operations.
  • Train and coach QA specialists      and production staff on quality procedures and best practices.
  • Manage retention samples, lab      equipment calibration, and environmental monitoring programs.
  • Analyze production data to      identify trends, risks, and opportunities for quality improvement.

Requirements

  

Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food      Science, Animal Science, Microbiology, or a related field (preferred)

Experience:

  • 3+ years in a quality assurance      role in food or pet food manufacturing
  • 1+ year in a supervisory or      leadership position

Skills:

  • Bilingual, English/Spanish
  • Computer skills
  • Knowledge of pet food industry      regulations (AAFCO, FDA, FSMA)
  • Strong understanding of HACCP,      GMP, and GFSI standards
  • Excellent communication,      leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office      and quality management systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced,      manufacturing environment

Certifications (preferred but not required):

  • HACCP Certification
  • SQF Practitioner or BRC knowledge
  • PCQI Certification

Working Conditions:

  • May require extended periods of      standing or walking
  • Must be able to lift up to 25–50      lbs occasionally
  • May require off-shift work      depending on production needs
