Fort HealthCare is a patient-centered hospital and healthcare system serving individuals, businesses and families in Jefferson, Dane, and Walworth Counties, and we are seeking a Professional Development Simulation Specialist to join our Education Team.

64 hours per bi-weekly pay period

Under the guidance of the Educational Services Director, the Professional Development Simulation Specialist provides coordination and direction for programs and educational opportunities for Fort HealthCare employees. The Specialist is instrumental in providing and/or creating high quality educational opportunities for various job roles within the healthcare setting.
Responsibilities of this position include:
- Works directly with the Educational Services Director to create new professional education opportunities that will promote staff competency, ongoing professional growth, and development of employees within the organization.
- Participates in organizing/facilitating various activities in the Learning Center, including, but not limited to, the Nurse Residency Program, skills fairs, critical care class, Education/Simulation team activities, the annual in-service, the Learning Management System (Swank), and the annual competency management plan.
- Works with the Simulation Specialist to develop and coordinate simulation scenarios and associated educational opportunities that are appropriate for a variety of job roles within the healthcare setting.
- Participates in ongoing development of clinical orientation, new employee orientation, inservices, competencies, and continuing education programs for health care employees.
Requirements of this position include:
- Associate Nursing Degree; Bachelor Nursing Degree in process required
- Advanced health care education or Nursing Degree (MSN) preferred
- Demonstrates the ability to evaluate information in an organized and timely manner. Models critical and reflective thinking skills. Possesses analytical skills, ability to synthesize information, make appropriate decisions while balancing individual and team responsibilities. Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; electronic medical record (EMR) documentation standards and experience with online or electronic learning systems. Possesses excellent oral and written communication skills. Has the ability to educate and debrief appropriately to the level of the position. Serves as a role model for ongoing professional development.
- Has knowledge in: Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): Assorted gloves; assorted masks; protective eye wear; impervious gowns; cover gowns; impervious aprons; mechanical devices, to help guide staff if they have questions regarding protective wear when they work with patients.
- Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin; BLS Certification required
- Ongoing development certification(s) showing professional advancement of health care career preferred
