Fresno Pacific University invites applications for an adjunct faculty position in mathematics education.  The position will support primarily graduate students in the Master’s program in Mathematics Education.


Position Duties

Essential Functions:

  • Teach courses as described and assigned per the expertise of the adjunct faculty
  • Discuss class progress with the program coordinator, including teaching performance through observation
  • Collaborate with other faculty as needed
  • Demonstrate a commitment to serving and inspiring students in an academic context that integrates your Christian faith and learning. 
  • Embrace the mission, vision, and values of Fresno Pacific University, affirm the FPU Faith Expectations, and support the ideals and practices articulated in "The Fresno Pacific Idea
  • Other job duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications

Required:

  • Ph.D. or M.S. in mathematics education, mathematics, statistics, or a close-related field
  • Ability to work with students, staff, and faculty in a collegial environment
  • Commitment to the Christian faith and the University’s mission of Christ-centered teaching and learning and involvement in a local church. 

Preferred:
  • Willingness to teach course as currently scheduled (alternative scheduling of a course may be considered depending on applicant availability alongside other course scheduling considerations)

Environmental Conditions:
  • Online via zoom between 2 to 4 hours at scheduled times. 
  • Frequent computer use at a workstation, up to eight hours per day.
  • Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
  • Public online contact position requiring professional apparel and grooming. 

Physical Demands:
  • This position typically functions on zoom and requires a strong internet connection. 
  • The position may involve travel for meetings and events.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: remain in a stationary position 80 % of the time. 
  • Employee must be able to communicate with others to exchange information including both over the telephone and in-person communication with callers and community members and be able to read a computer screen and paper documents.

    • This person should have extensive knowledge of your Christian life and relationship with Jesus Christ. This knowledge should be expressed in the letter.

Compensation is based on highest completed degree level:

Master's degree:  Anticipated pay per unit $811.51, $23.97 per hour

Terminal degree:  Anticipated pay per unit $977.98, $28.82 per hour
