Job Description:
The Mechanical Engineering Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technical specialists responsible for designing, integrating, and supporting custom tool and automation solutions. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with leadership skills and a passion for solving complex customer problems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering team (mechanical, electrical, controls, applications).
- Manage the full lifecycle of engineering projects—from concept to commissioning.
- Collaborate with sales, operations, and customers to develop and deliver tailored tooling and automation solutions.
- Oversee technical design reviews, BOM generation, system layouts, and documentation.
- Ensure engineering deliverables meet quality standards, timelines, and customer specifications.
- Implement and improve engineering processes, standards, and best practices.
- Support pre-sales activities with technical input, concept development, and quoting.
- Manage project scope, budget, and resources across multiple simultaneous projects.
- Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or work experience in a related field (Master’s a plus).
- 7+ years of engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Experience with industrial tools, automation systems, robotics, or custom integration.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Experience with PLC/controls systems.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and technical sales support.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to travel occasionally to customer sites and other company locations.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels.
