Under general supervision, responsible for planning, organizing, and executing professional-level accounting tasks in connection with the maintenance and monitoring of financial operations. Performs a wide variety of accounting functions to include full cycle accounting practices.
Responsibilities
- Prepares income and balance sheet statements, consolidated statements and other various accounting statements and reports.
- Performs month-end closing activities and reconciliations in accounting software.
- Analyzes financial reports and records, while conducting studies and making recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, assets and expenditures.
- Maintains accounting integrity and financial security by following internal controls.
- Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.
- Conducts specialized studies and develops or recommends improved accounting methods and procedures.
- Coordinates accounting matters with other departments, locations and divisions.
- Instructs or assigns accounting tasks to department staff and other employees engaged in general accounting activities.
- Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering procedural questions through research, interpretation and application of accounting policy and regulations.
- Analyzes, compares, and evaluates various courses.
- Reports actions for decision-making purposes within the authority and scope of responsibilities.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Knowledge and application of full-cycle accounting principles, concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
- Strong analytical ability requiring evaluation, originality and ingenuity.
- Ability to learn industry related management systems.
- Ability to prioritize, work independently, and complete tasks within deadlines.
- Sound time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to exercise tact and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Proficiency in applicable software programs including Microsoft Office.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor's Degree degree in accounting or finance is required.
PREFERRED:
CPA certification is preferred.

- Front-loaded Paid Time Off: 128 to 208 hours (16 to 26 days) of Paid Time Off based on years of service, given at the start of each fiscal year. PTO may be prorated in year one based on date of hire.
