QRT’s culture of innovation continuously drives our ambition to deliver high quality returns for our investors.

Over the years, QRT has invested in a global research and execution platform which has been deployed to cover all geographies and asset classes. This platform covers a broad spectrum from high to low frequency trading systems. We thrive at the intersection of cutting-edge technology, smart automation, and scalable processes, enabling us to move fast, think big, and deliver at scale.

We are committed to identifying and developing exceptional talent and are inviting a new cohort of outstanding individuals to join us in the year ahead. Our internship offers a stimulating, intellectually rigorous, and high-performance environment, where collaboration is key to success. You will work alongside and be mentored by industry-leading professionals, gaining invaluable experience and positioning yourself for the opportunity to secure a full-time graduate role upon successful completion of the program.

Your future role at QRT

Throughout the recruitment process, we will work to align your skills, interests, and potential with the teams where you can make the greatest impact.

As part of QRT's Platform Technology Services, you will join a global group bringing together our Cloud, Infrastructure, Network Operations, and Security teams. We design, build, and operate the high-performance platforms that power our research, trading, and business operations. We provide the secure, reliable, and scalable foundation that enables QRT to operate at the forefront of global quantitative trading.

Infrastructure:

Infrastructure oversees the on-premises hardware and operating systems that power our production trading operations. We optimise hardware performance, analyse Linux internals, and fine-tune systems to ensure peak operational efficiency. Our work is centred on precise performance measurement and targeted enhancements, supporting mission-critical trading systems with speed, stability, and precision.

Research Infrastructure:

Research Infrastructure designs and operates the high-performance computing, networking, and storage systems that power QRT’s research activities. We support advanced analytics, large-scale data processing, and cutting-edge machine learning and AI workloads using
technologies such as PyTorch.

Our mission is to provide researchers with a robust, scalable, and efficient platform that accelerates discovery and enables innovation, allowing them to focus on solving complex problems and developing next-generation strategies.

DevOps Platform:

DevOps designs, builds, and maintains QRT’s infrastructure platforms across both public and private cloud environments. We enable a software-defined datacentre through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, using tools such as Python, Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD platforms like GitLab. Our work drives the automation, scalability, and reliability of the systems that support research and trading, ensuring infrastructure is deployed, updated, and maintained seamlessly.

HPC Storage:

The HPC Storage team is responsible for designing, operating, and optimizing QRT’s high-performance storage infrastructure, which underpins large-scale research and computing workloads across the firm. We manage cutting-edge storage technologies that ensure data is delivered reliably, securely, and at speed, enabling researchers and engineers to run complex simulations and analyses without interruption.

Working in this team means exposure to enterprise-grade systems, close collaboration with engineers, researchers, and technology vendors, and the opportunity to contribute to the backbone of QRT’s research computing platform.

Network Operations:

Networking Operations ensures the availability, reliability, and security of QRT’s global network, which is critical to the seamless operation of our research and trading platforms. We manage incident troubleshooting, develop observability tooling, and build automation to streamline network operations. In addition to maintaining existing infrastructure, we continue to advance our capabilities to operate a high-performance compute datacentre that meets the demanding needs of low-latency trading.

Cloud:

Cloud delivers the scalable computing and data platforms that support QRT’s research and trading initiatives. We design and manage cloud infrastructure, optimise large-scale data pipelines, and automate provisioning to provide fast, flexible, and efficient research environments. By leveraging Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps practices, we enable researchers to process vast datasets, run complex models, and innovate without infrastructure constraints.

Security:

The Security team safeguards QRT’s systems, data, and operations against cyber threats. We operate across security engineering, operations, and awareness, implementing measures to prevent, detect, and respond to vulnerabilities and incidents. Our scope includes vulnerability management, incident response, security tooling, and organisation-wide awareness initiatives. Through a proactive and collaborative approach, we ensure QRT’s technology environment remains secure, resilient, and compliant.
