The Assistant Line Service Manager is responsible for assisting the Line Service Manager in leading an exceptional line service team. This position ensures the efficient, safe, and professional delivery of services for all internal and external customers by enforcing in-depth knowledge of company procedures and core brand philosophies. This role serves as a key leadership position in the department, supporting the Line Service Manager and collaborating closely with other FBO managers to uphold the highest standards of safety, service, and operational excellence.
Requirements
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist the Line Service Manager in the daily management of the line service department, including prioritizing, assigning, and monitoring work for supervisors and line service personnel.
- Conduct daily pass-down meetings ("Daily Take-Offs") to brief the team on operational plans, safety, and brand standards.
- Support the Line Service Manager in the recruiting and hiring process, including conducting interviews and evaluating candidates to build a well rounded, customer- and safety-focused team.
- Oversee facility and ground support equipment readiness, conducting regular maintenance checks and ensuring all equipment is operational and clean.
- Assist with fuel management, including monitoring fuel inventory, reconciling load receipts, and supporting the fuel ordering process.
- Actively enforce damage prevention, safety procedures, and the FOD Prevention Program on the ramp.
- Respond to and manage initial phases of incidents or mishaps, ensuring safety protocols are followed and communication is initiated with the General Manager.
- Support the training and mentorship of the line service team, ensuring all line personnel meet training goals.
- Review and assist with managing the line service team's payroll and overtime submissions.
- Ensure all team members adhere to the "Personal Best Policy" for uniforms, grooming, and conduct.
- Support aircraft storage, movement, and hangar arrangement, proactively anticipating needs for arrivals and departures.

- Problem-Solving: The ability to make quick, sound decisions and resolve issues under pressure, especially in safety-critical situations.
Reporting Relationship
This position reports directly to the Line Service Manager.
Work Environment
This position works outside in all types of weather conditions and direct contact with both moving and non-moving aircraft. This position may be exposed to hazardous noise levels, chemicals, fumes, and machinery.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, to include but not limited to:
- Must be able to lift 75 pounds

- Outside work in all types of weather conditions
- Position requires bending, lifting, walking, stooping, squatting, gripping and climbing a ladder
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is an exempt position.
This position may require working evenings and weekends, and on scheduled company holidays.
Travel
Limited travel is expected for this position.
Education, Experience, and Eligibility Qualifications
Required
- Minimum of five (5) years of demonstrable leadership/supervisory experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record and eligibility for company insurance.
- Ability to pass a background check and zero-tolerance drug screening, including pre-employment and random screenings.
Preferred
- Line service experience, including fuel management and at least one year of supervisory duties.
- Associate degree with (3) years of related experience.
