Position Summary:

In keeping with our organization’s goal of improving the lives of the Residents we serve; the Environmental Services Supervisor plays a critical role in maintaining all physical plant assets on the property, as well as providing superior customer service and housekeeping services to all Residents in the facility. The Environmental Services Supervisor is responsible for the planning, development and overall operation of the Maintenance, Housekeeping and Laundry Departments which ensures the facility is maintained in a clean, odor free and safe manner.


 

Director of Environmental Services Responsibilities:

  • Inspects the facility on a regular basis to ensure the grounds, facility and equipment are maintained according to the facility policies and procedures.
  • Hands on leader in maintaining facility
  • Supervise maintenance personnel.
  • Maintain and monitor the fire alarm and emergency system.
  • Be on-call 24/7 to trouble shoot any maintenance emergencies.
  • Manage the facility preventative maintenance program.
  • Provide in-services, education and participate in the employee orientation programs.
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair on the facility and equipment to include plastering and mechanical repairs
  • Maintain the grounds, facility, and equipment in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations.
  • Assists in maintaining a clean, comfortable and safe environment.
  • All-seasons maintenance required on the grounds – different outside duties will be required given the season of the year.

Director of Environmental Services Must Have:

  • Must have experience with electrical, plumbing, HVAC and building systems
  • Experience in a healthcare setting, previous SNF experience preferred
  • Ability to be on-call 24/7

Requirements

Required/Desired Qualifications:

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years’ experience in a housekeeping supervisory or Environmental Services role in a Health Care setting.
  • Knowledge of LARA regulations.


Specific skills, knowledge, and abilities:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Competent with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Ability to work with people with physical and mental disabilities including those using profanity, derogatory language and the like.


Other Special Requirements:

  •  Tolerate frequent exposure to blood, body tissues, and bodily fluids with occasional exposure to hazardous materials and infectious diseases. As well as, frequent exposure to laundry chemicals. Frequent exposure to latex, and plastic materials used for personal protective equipment.
  •  Manual dexterity required to operate modern office equipment. 
  •  Ability to travel as needed or assigned.
