Position Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Collections Representative to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining healthy account receivables by professionally and proactively managing past-due accounts. You’ll work closely with customers to resolve outstanding balances, provide support in setting up payment arrangements, and ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Researching and resolving customer concerns regarding lease contracts.
  • Timely responding to incoming emails and phone calls from customers.
  • Working collaboratively with legal, accounting and other departments as may be required.
  • Recording accurate and detailed notes in system; updating customer account status.
  • Collecting past due invoices.
  • Generating 30 and 60 day past due letters to Customers.
  • Making outbound calls on delinquencies from early through late-stage collections.
  • Contacting customers to discuss delinquent accounts and negotiating payment.
  • Other reasonable duties, as may be determined by the Collections Manager.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to Perform Essential Functions of the Job

  • Minimum 1 year experience in the same job
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Punctual
  • Must demonstrate resilience and the ability to assertively navigate challenging conversations while maintaining professionalism.
  • Ideal candidate will be comfortable navigating conflict, receiving constructive feedback, and maintaining focus in the face of adversity.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision
  • Should be customer service driven
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
  • Able to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

Preferred Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience with customer interaction
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Knowledge of Aspire and/or Lease Plus
  • Knowledge of leasing and/or mortgage industries preferred

Level of Complexity and Scope

  • Follows established procedures and guidelines to accurately maintain the organization's financial records and transactions.

Degree of Independence and Decision-Making

  • Ability to handle the standard Customer Service and Collections issues or escalations

  • None

Physical Requirements

  • Occasionally lifts and carries up to 10 lbs.
  • Frequently sits, stands and walks.
