Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Planning Manager to join our team supporting our Federal client in the Washington DC area! In this role you will get to lead a multi-disciplined planning team providing onsite support at the client office.
What You'll Be Doing:
Act as the Company representative with the client during the program execution.
Assist client to determine specific planning support requirements to execute expanding construction program including:
prepare work programs to translate project objectives into detailed plans
develop plans for utilization of land and physical facilities of military installations applying extensive and diverse knowledge of planning principles and practices
prepare Facility Requirements and Space Planning; Site and Area Development Planning
gather, compile, and analyze data on economic, social, and physical factors affecting the construction projects
review, monitor, and ensure compliance with Federal and local standards
support client in discussions with regulatory agencies and in public meetings
Coordinate with other managers, project engineers, and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various elements of a project.
Support various planning activities by preparing or reviewing plans, including charettes, 1391s, installation master plans and other
Mobilize company resources, through liaison with technical design team, other offices, or specialty subcontractors, to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
12+ years management experience directing and overseeing planning and design teams in support of multi-$M Federal client construction programs
BS Degree in Architecture, Urban/Environmental Planning or related field
Experience in producing Federal project master plans, conceptual designs and illustrative layouts.
Ability to manage projects, interface with clients and enjoy being hands on technically in the project.
Experience coordinating multi-discipline planning teams
Technical experience with Adobe Creative Suite products such as InDesign and Illustrator
US Citizenship required
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
Broad knowledge and experience with planning for Federal facilities and related infrastructure including: barracks, classroom/training facilities, marine docks, ship repair dry dock facilities, administrative buildings
Thorough understanding of Federal and local statutes and planning rules and regulations.
Ability to develop and review statements of work for accuracy and completeness, including field sketches, CAD drawings, supplemental specifications required to support SOWs and supplemental construction directives.
Certification as PMP with the Project Management Institute (PMI), and American Institute of Certified Planners Certification (AICP)
Developed soft skills working as part of a team with Federal clients
Excellent writing and oral communication skills.
Proven ability for performing in a lead capacity on a project
