Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized Legal Assistant to join our team. The bank’s in-house legal team works in a collaborative environment that stresses partnership, recognition, accountability, and having fun while delivering the highest level of service to the bank’s business lines. This unique role will play a key role as part of the team, providing administrative support to the General Counsel and other professionals (maintaining calendars, expense reports, assisting with correspondence, filing etc.) and also serving as a key point of contact for legal requests from across the company, ensuring inquiries are assigned and responded to promptly.
The ideal candidate will have prior legal administrative, paralegal, or project management experience, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive, team-oriented approach. Strong communication skills and comfort managing multiple priorities are essential. Experience with billing systems is preferred.
This is a hands-on role where you will help keep matters moving, ensure deadlines are met, and support the efficiency of the department. This role offers the opportunity to grow alongside the legal department, contribute to meaningful operational initiatives, and work closely with leadership in a supportive and professional environment.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Providing outstanding customer support to incoming legal requests from the business lines, ensuring tasks are properly assigned to attorneys or paralegals
  • Establish efficient workflows in place to maximize productivity and performance, tracking progress, monitoring KPIs, and generating performance reports
  • Provide administrative and executive support to the General Counsel and legal team, including calendar management, travel coordination, meeting logistics, and expense reporting.
  • Assist in the selection and implementation of an eBilling system, including vendor evaluation, rollout planning, and ongoing support.
  • Prepare materials for presentations, meetings, and internal communications.
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external vendors to support legal operations and special projects.
  • Maintain documentation, dashboards, and process maps to support legal workflows and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, discretion, and strong communication skills in all interactions.
Qualifications, Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum three years’ experience in a legal or professional services environment
  • Project management experience a plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of professionalism and discretion
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with legal tech or project management tools is a plus
