Job Summary
The IT Delivery Manager provides leadership for cross-functional technology teams responsible for delivering high-quality software solutions that deliver business value. This role blends leadership, application development, program delivery, and stakeholder management to ensure that Software Developers, Product Owners, and Business Analysts work effectively to deliver high-quality, timely, and business-aligned solutions. Success in this role requires balancing hands-on leadership with a strategic mindset to deliver value quickly, securely, and sustainably.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Kinsale stakeholders to lead multiple agile/scrum teams to deliver custom software applications from program management and software development perspectives
• Manage delivery timelines, dependencies, and risk mitigation
• Ensure architectural adherence, quality, performance, reliability, and security of delivered software
• Grow and maintain a deep knowledge of business workflows, processes, needs and constraints as they apply to delivering software applications and services in policy management, claims, and financial areas
• Partner across the organization to propose solutions for complex challenges
• Lead planning to set clear expectations of scope, timelines, and delivery outcomes
• Design, manage, and execute product roadmaps
• Oversee requirement gathering, backlog management, and feature delivery
• Facilitate collaboration and partnership across IT teams and business stakeholders; build transparency and leverage those relationships to overcome delivery challenges
• Consistently deliver clear, proactive, and strategically aligned communication to enable decision-making
• Champion best practices and technology standards to ensure scalability, security, and business enablement
• Take ownership of gaps across IT where improvements will strengthen operations and organizational maturity
• Manage day-to-day activities of Technology Manager(s), Software Developers, Product Owners, and Business Analysts in alignment with departmental strategies
• Mentor, coach, and provide guidance for team members to optimize their talents on high-performing Agile teams
• Manage resources effectively, balancing performance management with individual growth
• Implement and manage delivery status reporting, metrics, and benchmarks to facilitate continuous improvement

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, technology or related field preferred, or commensurate experience
• 5+ years of proven experience in delivery management leveraging Agile methodologies
• Experience in clearly articulating strategic opportunities, crafting a message on how to leverage those opportunities, and expressing goals in a way that aligns and motivates others to take action
• Proven leadership abilities pertaining to the development and growth of cross-functional technology teams
• Strong technical foundation to enable meaningful engagement with developers/architects and clear understanding of trade-offs
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and initiatives
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Analytical problem solver who can clearly identify and resolve issues as they arise
• Ability to partner across organizations and develop business solutions with shared goals and outcomes
• Demonstrated ability to elicit requirements using effective strategies (interviews, story mapping, user stories, business analysis, etc.)
• Preferred: Experience in insurance or financial services industries
• Preferred: Familiarity with cloud, DevOps, modern application delivery, and software development best practices
