As a Mechanical Engineer at Hologic, you will contribute to all phases of product design and support, from concept through implementation and continuous improvement. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, define mechanical requirements, design and analyze systems, and help ensure our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the Mechanical Engineering team and foster a culture of leadership and communication.
  • Develop innovative solutions to address customer needs and product requirements.
  • Participate in product design activities, including concept development, CAD modeling, documentation, component selection, and testing of electro-mechanical devices and systems.
  • Evaluate prototype part options and assist with fabrication to ensure product conformity.
  • Support the transition of final designs to manufacturing and contribute to ongoing product improvement initiatives.
  • Conduct testing on components and assemblies to validate design proposals and optimize equipment performance.
  • Ensure all drafting, design, and testing activities comply with quality standards and best practices.
  • Create schedules, monitor project progress, and provide regular updates to management.
  • Develop and execute verification/validation plans for sub-assemblies and complete units.
  • Process engineering change orders using electronic product data management systems.
  • Assist in building and manufacturing prototype products and systems.
  • Generate 3D part models, assemblies, and drawings.
  • Adhere to Quality Policy, Quality System procedures, and department guidelines.
  • Drive improvements in product quality and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders across departments.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and growth within the company.
  • Manage multiple projects under the guidance of senior engineers.

 

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field (preferred).

Experience: 0–2 years for non-technical degree holders; 0–1 years for technical/advanced degree holders.

Skills:

  • Detail-oriented and strong team player.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills.
  • Initiative and openness to feedback.
  • Experience with SolidWorks 3D modeling and PDM, 2D drafting, and CAD data management (preferred).
  • Familiarity with fabrication methods (DFM), including machined and sheet metal parts (preferred).
  • Understanding of root cause analysis and failure investigation methodologies (preferred).
  • Strong hands-on skills and ability to build and test designs.

The annualized base salary range for this role is $62,900 - $98,400 and is bonus eligible. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, geography, education, business needs and market demand.
