Job Description – Engineer 

Property: TWELVE® Hotels & Residences, Atlanta, GA
Position Title: Engineer 
Reports To: General Manager

Position Overview

The Engineer is responsible for performing routine and preventative maintenance to ensure the property’s mechanical systems, guest rooms, residential units, and public areas are in excellent working condition. This position requires hands-on technical skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing a safe, comfortable environment for all guests and residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform general maintenance and repair work on guest rooms, residential units, meeting spaces, and public areas.

• Troubleshoot and repair minor electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical issues.

• Conduct routine inspections of equipment and building systems; report deficiencies to the Chief Engineer.

• Complete work orders and preventative maintenance tasks in a timely and professional manner.

• Assist with routine upkeep, including painting, carpentry, and small projects as assigned.

• Respond promptly to guest and resident service requests while ensuring minimal disruption.

• Follow all safety, security, and OSHA guidelines when handling equipment, tools, and chemicals.

• Support engineering leadership in special projects, renovations, and emergency response.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in all engineering and back-of-house areas.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in hotel, residential, or commercial building maintenance preferred.

• Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and mechanical systems.

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good communication and customer service skills.

• Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; trade school or technical certifications a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs. regularly.

• Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
