Job Title: Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH)
Location: Midtown Location, 2615 Fannin, Houston, TX 77002
Reports To: Dental Practice Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Summary:
The Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH) is responsible for performing dental procedures to preserve teeth and prevent oral disease, while also educating patients on proper oral hygiene. This role involves providing compassionate, high-quality care and working collaboratively with the dental team to ensure a positive patient experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide preventive dental care, including scaling, root planing, polishing, fluoride application, and periodontal maintenance
- Perform oral health assessments, full-mouth periodontal probing, and record findings accurately
- Educate patients on oral hygiene techniques and disease prevention
- Apply sealants and desensitizing agents as prescribed
- Take and record medical/dental histories, vital signs, and update patient records
- Prepare and maintain operatory cleanliness and equipment functionality
- Sterilize instruments and follow all infection control protocols
- Exhibit excellent customer service, especially with non-English-speaking or special needs patients
- Collaborate with dentists and support staff to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care
- Assist dentist chairside for procedures as needed
- Manage emergency situations per clinic protocol
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of relevant safety and health regulations
- Perform additional office or clinical duties as assigned

Physical Demands
- Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and use hands and arms
- Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch
- Must be able to lift/move up to 10 lbs frequently and up to 25 lbs occasionally
- Visual requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
Work Environment
- Regular exposure to saliva, blood-borne pathogens, and sharp instruments
- Frequent use of mechanical dental equipment
- Frequent exposure to radiation and airborne particles
- Noise levels are typically moderate to high
Requirements
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program approved by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners
- Successfully passed the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners licensing exam
- Minimum of 2 years of experience. Experience in periodontics preferred
- Bilingual Required (English/Spanish)
Licenses & Certifications
- Active Texas Dental Hygiene License in good standing
- Current CPR Certification
