Job Summary

Under general supervision, performs receptionist and general clerical duties within the Cruise Operations department. Work involves being able to provide relevant information to Port visitors, staff and community members. This position will be answering help calls from departing and arriving cruise passengers at the cruise terminal pay stations. Must be able to push parking payment rates utilizing the FLASH platform. Employee must exercise a high degree of professionalism and independent judgement.  

 

Essential Functions – Reception

  • Greet and assist cruise passengers through the FLASH help platform (assist with the payment process and pull rates to kiosks)
  • Responsible for FLASH platform help call switchboard and routing of phone calls
  • For vehicle verification purposes, have access and monitor Port CCTV
  • Inputs and maintains FLASH tracking system for operational and downtime issues
  • Assists with special clerical projects
  • Operational Troubleshooting by identifying service gaps or guest-impacting challenges in real time and coordinating creative, efficient solutions while keeping all key parties informed
  • Passenger call screening as the initial point of contact for guest inquiries.
  • Flexible schedule. Must be available to support cruise passenger calls during weekdays, weekends, holidays and irregular hours depending on cruise vessel schedules and operational needs.

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent 
  • 3+ years of experience in customer service, hospitality, cruise operations, aviation, or transportation-related environments
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills, with the ability to de-escalate tense situations
  • Familiarity with the cruise industry or port terminal operations strongly preferred
  • Highly organized, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to track and follow up on multiple issues simultaneously
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other basic operational software systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic, fast-paced team

 

Licenses / Certification Required:

  • Florida Driver’s License 

 

Physical Requirement

  • Tasks involve the ability to exert light physical effort in a sedentary to light work
  • May involve some lifting, carrying pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of light weight (20-30 lbs) 

 

Environmental Requirements

  • Work is performed in usual office conditions
  • Flexible schedule. Must be available to support cruise passenger calls during weekdays, weekends, holidays and irregular hours depending on cruise vessel schedules and operational needs.
