Requirements
This is a remote, part-time position that works a minimum of 15 hours, but less than 30 hours per week; $28.00--$32.00/hour.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Performs general cost accounting and other related duties for the organization.
2. Enters expense transactions into accounting system.
3. Maintains the general ledger.
4. Codes invoices, sets up new accounts, reconciles accounts and closes the monthly books.
5. Reconciles bank accounts at least monthly, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks.
6. Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, accounts receivable clearing account, and other financial accounts.
7. Records payroll activity and ensures accruals are properly recorded.
8. Verifies and/or completes payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensures payments are charged to the appropriate accounts.
9. Manages rent payments and monitors and maintains lease agreements schedule.
10. Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.
11. Ensures tangible tax for all locations are current.
12. Coordinates with software vendor to maintain accounting software systems; recommends updates to enhance the accounting software.
13. Ensures credit card reports are received and accounts are coded and reconciled correctly.
14. Assists in financial statement preparation.
15. Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
16. Completes related tasks as directed.

SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
Experience: Nonprofit accounting experience required.
Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Suite, Adobe and web-based database systems; experience with CRM systems required; QuickBooks Online experience required; knowledge of accounting software required.
Certifications & Licenses: CPA preferred.
Other Requirements:
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Knowledge of general financial accounting.
· Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.
· Must have own computer, printer, smartphone with data plan, and high-speed internet connection.
Supervision: No supervisory responsibilities.
Travel: No travel required.
