The target hiring range for this position is $62,135.00 - $67,617.50
Position Summary:
The Commencement Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the planning, coordination, and execution of all graduation-related activities—including virtual and in-person ceremonies. This role ensures a seamless, celebratory, and student-centered experience from the moment a student applies for graduation through their transition into the alumni community.
The Coordinator will collaborate across departments including communications, marketing, registrar, events, and production teams to manage logistics, ensure timely communication, and uphold the College’s standards of excellence for graduate recognition.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end logistics for all commencement ceremonies (virtual and in-person)
- Coordinate timelines and graduation tasks in alignment with academic calendars
- Lead communication efforts to graduates regarding ceremony details, deadlines, and expectations
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., Communications, Marketing, Registrar, Events, IT)
- Review and approve commencement programs and graduate recognition materials
- Serve as the point of contact for graduate-related questions and issues
- Ensure timely tracking and distribution of graduation regalia, pins, cords, and celebration boxes
- Support the Director of Alumni Relations in developing transition experiences for new graduates
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Higher Education, Communications, or related field
- 3+ years in student services, event planning, or related experience
- Strong project management and communication skills
- Proven ability to manage timelines and coordinate cross-functional teams
- Experience working with CRM systems and virtual event platforms is a plus
All new hires are required to attend New Collaborator Orientation (NCO) in Salt Lake City, Utah. The College will pay for travel and lodging accommodations.
