Summary: The Communications Specialist develops content for communication programs that both support and reinforce organizational objectives and inspire our employees across multiple product centers. Working closely with the Director of Marketing, this role ensures that our people are aligned with company goals, culture, and values through clear, consistent, and engaging messaging. 


This is a hybrid role that should be based near an MCG hub - Dallas, Texas; Austin, Texas; Boise, Idaho; New Orleans, Louisiana; Atlanta, Georgia; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Indianapolis, Indiana.


Accountabilities:

  • Content Development & Execution
    • Lead the creation and distribution of company newsletters and regular leadership updates.
    • Draft and manage communications for town halls, including run-of-show messaging, executive talking points, and follow-up recaps.
    • Translate complex business updates into clear, engaging, and accessible content for diverse employee audiences.
  • Channel Management
    • Manage internal communication platforms (intranet, email campaigns, newsletters, digital signage, employee portals, etc.).
    • Optimize channels for maximum reach and engagement, ensuring consistency with brand voice and tone.
  • Leadership & Employee Support
    • Partner with executives, HR, and cross-functional teams to deliver key announcements, leadership messages, and change-management communications.
    • Provide communication support and toolkits to managers to help cascade messages effectively across teams.
  • Event & Campaign Support
    • Support planning and communications for company-wide town halls, leadership meetings, roadshows, and employee engagement initiatives.
    • Develop creative campaigns to drive participation in culture, engagement, and community programs.
  • Measurement & Insights
    • Track engagement metrics (newsletter readership, town hall participation, intranet usage, etc.) to evaluate effectiveness.
    • Continuously evolve internal comms strategies to reflect employee feedback and business needs.

Required Knowledge/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, journalism, or a related field.
  • 4 - 7 years of experience in marketing, employer branding, communications or employee engagement.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for different audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with communication tools and platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, intranet CMS, email campaign tools, newsletter tools, digital signage).
  • Collaborative mindset with proven ability to build relationships across business units and levels of leadership.
  • Experience developing content and logistics for newsletters and town halls.
  • Knowledge of design basics and ability to work with creative teams to develop compelling visuals.
  • Familiarity with survey and analytics tools to measure employee sentiment and communication effectiveness. 


Work Environment and Physical Demands:  

  • FLSA executive and professional positions paid on a salary basis, where project requirements and tight client deadlines may require workweeks over forty (40) hours (including weekends or holidays)  
  • This role will work in an office setting, however, frequent visits to the production floor are required to oversee operations, ensure compliance and safety standards, and engage staff. 
  • Mobility: Ability to move around the manufacturing plant, including walking, standing, and climbing stairs. 
  • Manual Dexterity: Occasional use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. 
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items up to twenty-five (25) pounds. All lifting should be done following OSHA standards. 
  • Visual and Auditory Requirements: Must be able to see and hear well enough to navigate the plant safely and communicate effectively with team members.
