DISC Surgery Center is seeking a full-time Medical Receptionist to assist one of our well-known spine surgeons. This position will be required to work on-site Monday – Friday from 8:30am – 5:00pm PST. This position will primarily work out of our Newport Beach clinic, with travel to Marina Del Rey one day a week.
In this position, you will:
- Greet and register patients in a friendly and service-oriented manner.
- Handle insurance verifications and scheduling of new and returning patients.
- Answer and transfer incoming phone calls.
- Obtain lab work and medical clearance for patients.
- Coordinate communication between patients, healthcare providers, and external medical facilities.
- Obtain vital signs, record medical histories, and ensure proper documentation into EHR systems.
- Maintain an organized workplace and assist with additional projects, as needed.
Qualifications
To ensure success in this role, you should have:
- High school Diploma or GED
- Two years’ experience in a medical office, hospital, outpatient surgery center, or related field
- Experience with Excel, Word, medical billing software and applications
- The ability to work in a fast paced, high-volume environment with frequent interruptions
- Be able to lift 30lbs and be able to walk, stand, bend and reach for prolonged periods.
Pay Range: $21.00 - $25.00/hour
