BGE Inc. is seeking a candidate to lead a Survey team in North Texas. The Registered Professional Land Surveyor will oversee survey projects and staff to deliver multi-discipline assignments. As an RPLS, the individual will provide professional supervision, act as the responsible authority for assigned staff, and manage QA/QC throughout each project. The Program Manager works with all levels of management and technical staff within the Survey / Geospatial Department, and coordinates with clients, sub-consultants, and other team members. The role involves fostering a collaborative work environment and sharing project experiences to enhance staff production approaches. Additionally, the position includes exploring business development opportunities for the firm.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise all aspects of surveying activities involving multiple field crews and supporting technical staff for both public and private sector projects, including Private development and TxDOT work.
  • Initiate and maintain communication with key contacts at government agencies and partner companies.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise survey crews, project managers, technicians, and other staff.
  • Administer contracts, manage projects, interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments.
  • Assign and schedule work to ensure timely completion.
  • Plan and develop surveying projects, addressing unique or complex problems, investigating subject areas, and developing new concepts and methods.
  • Responsible for invoicing, staff allocation, collections, and division revenue/profit objectives.
  • Collaborate with other leaders on marketing and business development initiatives.
  • Adhere to company guidelines, including the employee handbook, communication protocols, and safety policies.
  • Perform duties with attention to detail in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Maintain current knowledge in the field through ongoing education.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in surveying or equivalent.
  • Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) licensed in the State of Texas.
  • 5 to 15+ years of experience in surveying project management, including residential/commercial land development, transportation, and public works, with experience producing final deliverable survey documents in a CAD environment.
  • Experience in client management, proposal preparation, staff resource planning, and progress reporting.
  • Familiarity with boundary determinations, legal descriptions, geodetic and plane survey calculations, and quality assurance for geospatial deliverables.
  • Background in staff development and training.
  • Proficiency with survey computations and platting using AutoCAD Civil 3D, OpenRoads, ArcGIS, and experience with GPS, Terrestrial LiDAR, UAS, and standard field equipment.
