Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced and innovative Lead eLearning Developer to drive the development of advanced digital learning solutions. In this role, you will lead a team of developers, collaborate with instructional designers, and work closely with subject matter experts (SMEs) to deliver engaging and interactive eLearning experiences. You will take ownership of end-to-end eLearning projects, ensuring that technical development aligns with educational objectives and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in eLearning development, project management, and team leadership, with a deep understanding of the latest tools and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Mentorship:

  • Lead, mentor, and provide technical guidance to a team of eLearning developers, ensuring high-quality work and continuous skill development.
  • Allocate tasks and manage workloads to optimize productivity across multiple projects.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the development team.

eLearning Development:

  • Design and develop high-quality, interactive eLearning courses using tools like Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or similar platforms.
  • Lead the development of advanced multimedia elements such as animations, simulations, quizzes, and assessments to enhance learner engagement.
  • Ensure all eLearning content is compliant with SCORM, xAPI, and AICC standards for seamless LMS integration.

Project Management: 

  • Take ownership of eLearning projects, managing the full development lifecycle from concept to delivery.
  • Collaborate with instructional designers, SMEs, and other stakeholders to ensure that technical development aligns with educational objectives.
  • Plan and manage timelines, resources, and budgets to meet project deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Management:

  • Act as a key point of contact for cross-functional teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration throughout the development process.
  • Work with graphic designers and multimedia experts to integrate media assets (video, audio, graphics) into eLearning courses.
  • Partner with instructional designers to review storyboards, wireframes, and course structures, providing technical feedback to improve overall course quality.

Quality Assurance and Testing:

  • Oversee the testing and troubleshooting of eLearning modules to ensure they are functional, user-friendly, and accessible (including compliance with WCAG 2.0 standards).
  • Implement iterative feedback and review processes to continually improve the content and learning outcomes.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

  • Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices to introduce innovative techniques that enhance the eLearning development process.
  • Lead the adoption and implementation of new tools and technologies, such as gamification, VR/AR, and mobile learning, to improve learner engagement and course effectiveness. 

Skills and Experience

  • Advanced knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript for eLearning customization and development.
  • Expertise in SCORM, xAPI, and LMS platforms (such as Moodle, Blackboard, or similar).
  • Strong understanding of instructional design methodologies (ADDIE, SAM) and adult learning principles.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.
  • Leadership and team management skills, with a passion for mentoring and developing team members.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and technical debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaborating with stakeholders and crossfunctional teams.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with multimedia tools like Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects).
  • Knowledge of emerging eLearning technologies, such as gamification, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and mobile learning.
  • Experience in designing accessible eLearning content compliant with WCAG 2.0 standards.
