The Junior Accountant will be responsible for assisting with daily accounting operations, including billing, accounts payable support, reconciliations, and month-end close activities. This role requires strong analytical skills, accuracy, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining confidentiality and integrity.


Role and Responsibilities 

  • Generate and issue invoices to customers based on contract terms.
  • Verify billing data for accuracy, including product, quantity and pricing.
  • Respond to billing inquiries from customers and internal departments.
  • Reconcile billing discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
  • Assist with accounts payable, including AP invoice filing and vendor inquiries.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and reconciliations.
  • Assist in preparing financial reports and schedules for internal and external stakeholders.

Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation.

  • Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and accounting standards.
  • Perform other administrative and accounting duties as assigned.

Requirements

  

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.

Experience:

  • 1–2 years of experience in billing, accounting, or finance roles.
  • Experience in a fast-paced or high-volume billing environment preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Advanced computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Experience with accounting software (Syspro experience is a plus).
  • Familiarity with electronic billing systems and portals.
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and practices.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.


Work Environment and Physical Requirements

The work environment alternates between a cold production setting with concrete floors and an office. This position requires the team member to:

  • Sit for an extended period at a computer.
  • Stand and walk through the production floor and endure cold temperatures (38 degrees)
  • Must occasionally lift/move up to 40 lbs.
