A Brief Overview
Responsible for assisting with the management and supervision of the Security Department. Manages and supervises day-to-day operations of security services throughout several locations.
What you will do
- Ensures compliance with Joint Commission accreditation, OSHA guidelines and any other regulatory agency as required by the law.
- Assists in preparing the department annual budget ensuring effective use of resources and staffing to ensure that budgeted objectives are achieved, and that cost and expense objectives are met.
- Coordinates various activities between hospital personnel to align security measures with operational processes, vendors, law enforcement agencies, and other personnel to ensure that security initiatives are completed in a timely and effective manner.
- Identifies and recommends changes in departmental guidelines, plans or programs as they affect morale, attitude and retention of all employees.
- Implements written guidelines and procedures directly relating to the security functions.
- Maintains competence to serve as a security resource for all hospital and clinic staff.
- Oversees security incident response and investigations, ensuring timely reporting and resolution of incidents.
- Manages daily security operations to a large security force covering multiple locations, including patrols, surveillance monitoring, access control, and emergency/crisis management.
- Represents security as the as the point of contact in administrative meetings and committees. In the absence of the Director of Security and Emergency Preparedness, act as the point in contact for executive leadership regarding security matters.
- Implements a quality assurance process, including internal audits to assess performance reliability within security operations.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
- Drivers License - Licensing Board Upon Hire
- 4-6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
