VP, Tax

The VP, Tax is responsible for delivering and ensuring complete and accurate tax accounting presentation and footnotes for public company financial statements, tax compliance and tax planning for the worldwide consolidated group.  In addition, this role is responsible for leading all tax related processes and communications to ensure the company’s compliance with all domestic and international regulatory bodies as well as reporting the company’s tax position to internal management, Audit Committee, and external auditors.

Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for all aspects of tax to include federal, state, international income tax and franchise tax.  Strong knowledge of U.S. tax code and tax regulations (federal and state)

  • Responsible for quarterly and year-end financial statement tax provisions including disclosures, footnotes for Forms 10-Q and 10-K in accordance with SEC requirements and tax account reconciliations for current and deferred taxes

  • Evaluate any tax strategies and planning for law changes; assess and communicate impact on Company’s tax position both internally and externally

  • Responsible for timely filling and technical review of all federal, state and international returns and quarterly estimated tax payments

  • Ability to manage any tax related audits, preparation of responses and develop Company position leading to an acceptable outcome

  • Responsible for all SOX controls around tax processes and procedures related to compliance and financial statement reporting

  • Oversee international tax accounting and returns for international subsidiaries and help to develop global structure

  • Manage Global transfer pricing planning and compliance

  • Manage the Company’s foreign tax positions (FTCs, E&P, GILTI, FDII, 5471, etc.) and associated income tax accounting and compliance

  • Lead tax analysis with respect to Company’s investment initiatives and merger and acquisition transactions

  • Performance of other duties as requested

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Accounting or related discipline preferred

  • Certified Public Accountant

  • Minimum 15 -20 years of progressive experience in large public accounting firm or large corporate tax function

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational skills with the ability to multi-task

  • Strong experience in multiple merger and acquisition transactions (due diligence and structuring)

  • Excellent communication skills (oral, written and listening)

  • Self-starter: project management and partnering skills, willing to get into the details, proactive, accountable, identifies and addresses issues, high level of accuracy

  • Strong technical experience including in depth knowledge of U.S. federal, state and international tax laws, regulations and reporting requirements

  • Strong technical knowledge of GAAP and tax impacts to financial statements

  • Ability to transfer the application of tax theory to business situations and transactions
