The Office of Enterprise Risk Management (OERM) is a multipurpose office based on the central campus in Columbus, Ohio. We support the research and academic mission of the university and medical center by managing risk, procuring and administering insurance, enhancing organizational resilience, and mitigating loss. It is our mission in OERM to advise and be a valued partner and current resource by creating innovative risk management solutions, delivering quality service and recommendations to address established and emerging risk, assisting in loss prevention and minimization, administering a robust insurance portfolio, enhancing organizational resilience and capabilities for resumption of operations, and providing proactive management and identification of risk and mitigation opportunities. The OERM staff is comprised of knowledgeable, dedicated, and skilled professionals. We are here to serve the risk management, insurance, and business continuity management needs of the Ohio State community.

This Insurance Risk Analyst supports the Office of Enterprise Risk Management under the general guidance of the Insurance Risk, Associate Director. Responsibilities include administration and enhancement of information systems, including report development, loss trending and analytics; active support of the claims management function, including administration and processing of insurance claims, commercial insurance program administration, insurance coverage analysis, risk control administration and tracking, and departmental administration. The Insurance Risk Analyst will be responsible for revisions to and upkeep of the OERM website and other technology tools. This role will work with outside vendors along with stakeholders across the University and Wexner Medical Center to gather data and information, develop and refine risk management information systems, and provide analytical and administrative support to the OERM.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, including claims administration. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent customer service skills. Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.

Desired Qualifications:

Two (2) to four (4) years of claims administration experience and a Bachelor’s degree in information systems, risk management, business administration, or a related field. Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills. Experience utilizing information systems in a professional environment. Risk management experience in higher education, healthcare, public sector, or a large, centralized business enterprise. Understanding of and exposure to enterprise risk management standards and best practices.

The Target Hiring Range for this position is $55,700 to $72,700 per year.
