The Enterprise Architect will serve as a senior technical advisor supporting DISA’s enterprise-level IT strategy, architecture development, and modernization initiatives. This role requires deep expertise in architecture frameworks, modeling tools, and DoD information technology environments. The Enterprise Architect will work closely with senior leadership, program managers, and technical teams to ensure IT architectures are aligned with mission objectives, industry best practices, and DoD standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise IT architectures using DoDAF, TOGAF, and Federal Enterprise Architecture Framework methodologies.
- Develop strategic roadmaps, architecture views, and capability models to guide DISA’s technology investments and modernization initiatives.
- Provide expert-level guidance on architecture modeling tools to design, document, and evaluate complex IT systems.
- Partner with stakeholders across the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community to ensure interoperability, compliance, and alignment with mission objectives.
- Conduct impact assessments of emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies to senior leadership.
- Translate business requirements into architectural solutions that are scalable, secure, and mission-focused.
- Establish and enforce governance processes for enterprise architecture development, ensuring adherence to DoD standards and frameworks.
- Mentor junior architects and technical staff, fostering knowledge transfer and professional growth.
- Collaborate with program managers and technical leads to ensure architectural decisions support program execution and lifecycle management.
- Support risk identification, analysis, and mitigation in architecture planning, ensuring resilience and compliance with cybersecurity requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Systems Engineering, Data Sciences, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of IT-related experience within the DoD, Intelligence Community, or organizations of similar scope.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience applying IT architecture frameworks (DoDAF, TOGAF, FEAF).
- Active Top Secret/SCI clearance.
- CISSP or CISM certification.
- DoD 8570 IAM Level II certification (minimum).
- Axelos ITIL v3 certification (minimum).
- Demonstrated expertise with DoDAF, including the ability to develop strategic initiatives, architecture views, and roadmaps.
- Experience using architecture modeling tools to design, document, and analyze enterprise systems.
- Proven success leading teams and managing large-scale IT projects in federal environments.
Preferred qualifications:
- CISCO Certified Design Expert.
- DoD 8570 IAM Level III or IV certification.
- Axelos ITIL v4 certification.
- Experience supporting DISA or other large-scale DoD enterprise IT programs.
- Knowledge of emerging technologies (e.g., cloud computing, zero trust, AI/ML) and their applicability within the DoD mission space.
