Corporate Debt Officer bei Harrow Council

The London Borough of Harrow is seeking for a Corporate Debt Officer within the Finance and Assurance Division who will be responsible for delivering the administration of invoices to clients and the collection and recovery of sundry / corporate debts from residents and businesses who contact with the authority. The postholder will support the Corporate Debt Team Leaders, as well as being the first point of referral and advice for less experienced staff regarding procedures, legislation and training. 

The successful candidate will have:

• An understanding of debt management and recovery legislation, policies and procedures, with a thorough knowledge of central government welfare benefits and social care legislation. Be familiar with other Council Debts.
• A good understanding of office computer systems, security measures, office policies and procedures.
•  2 years experience within debt management and the recovery of debts preferably within the temporary housing sector, however, this will also include recovery of sundry debts.
• Experience of using IT and Financial IT systems in particular in chasing customer debt.
• To have a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.
