SCA Appliance Mechanic - FTS bei Work Services Corporation

1. Ensures all operational and safety procedures are properly followed, maintaining a clean and safe work area.

2. Installs, services and repairs stoves, refrigerators, dishwashing machines, and other electrical household or commercial appliances, using hand tools, test equipment and following wiring diagrams and manufacturer's specifications.

3. Connects appliance(s) to power source and test meters, such as wattmeter, ammeter, or voltmeter, observes readings on meters and graphic recorders, examines appliance during operating cycle to detect excess vibration, overheating, fluid leaks and loose parts, and disassembles appliances and examines mechanical and electrical parts.

4. Traces electrical circuits, following diagram and locates shorts and grounds, using ohmmeter, calibrates timers, thermostats and adjusts contact points, and cleans and washes parts, using wire brush, buffer, and solvent to remove carbon, grease and dust.

5. Replaces worn or defective parts, such as switches, pumps, bearings, transmissions, belts, gears, blowers and defective wiring, repairs and adjusts appliance motors, reassembles appliance, adjusts pulleys and lubricates moving parts, using hand tools and lubricating equipment.

6. Responsible for properly maintaining equipment.

Work Environment

The employee will be exposed to traffic. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee will be exposed to extreme heat and extreme cold.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, and / or sit for long periods of time, being able to reach with hands and arms, and is frequently required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, bend, crouch, kneel, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds. 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. 

Required Education and Experience

1. High school graduate or GED.

2. Must have current Refrigeration Certification Class I and II per EPA Guidelines.

Licenses/Work Authorization/Security Clearance

1. Valid Driver’s License with certificate of insurability (corporate auto policy). 

2. Drug Screen.

3. Strength Test.

4. WSC background check.

5. Ability to drive ¾ or one-ton truck with automatic or manual transmission.
