About the Position

The Product Development Engineer will design, develop, and launch innovative products that address the growing needs of secure data lifecycle management and cybersecurity asset management. This role combines engineering expertise with cybersecurity awareness, ensuring that every solution enhances asset visibility, compliance, and data protection across its lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and development of new products from concept to launch, with an emphasis on cybersecurity asset management solutions.
  • Design and integrate technologies such as RFID, NFC, IoT sensors, blockchain for asset tracking, and SIEM/SOAR integrations to support secure monitoring and lifecycle management of IT assets.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity, compliance, and operations teams to ensure products meet stringent security standards and customer requirements.
  • Develop prototypes, conduct secure product testing, and refine designs for scalability, reliability, and compliance.
  • Ensure products adhere to industry standards (NIST, ISO 27001, R2, EPA) and integrate seamlessly with enterprise cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Implement secure design practices, including encryption, tamper detection, and trusted supply chain methodologies.
  • Conduct root cause analysis to strengthen asset protection in existing product lines.
  • Work with suppliers and manufacturing partners to optimize product cost-effectiveness while embedding security safeguards.
  • Prepare detailed technical documentation, including CAD designs, security integration requirements, specifications, and test plans.
  • Research and apply emerging cybersecurity technologies (e.g., AI-driven anomaly detection, zero-trust asset authentication) to enhance product designs.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Cybersecurity Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 3+ years of experience in product development, with exposure to cybersecurity, asset management, or data lifecycle management solutions.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Experience with prototyping, design validation, and secure product testing.
  • Hands-on experience with RFID/NFC technology, IoT-enabled asset tracking, and blockchain-based asset verification.
  • Knowledge of SIEM (e.g., Splunk, QRadar) and SOAR platforms for integrating asset monitoring into enterprise security operations.
  • Strong familiarity with cybersecurity and compliance frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, R2).
  • Understanding of encryption methods, secure firmware development, and tamper-resistant design.
  • Strong project management and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and ability to collaborate across engineering, cybersecurity, and business teams.
