What You Will Do
- Leads General Research Activities
- Design final drafts of data collection tools, questionnaires and interview protocols; facilitate and manage data collection; quality assurance; physical and electronic filing of project materials; assist other IJ departments with data/research-related projects and tasks; may serve as research consultants for Innovation projects as appropriate; contribute to team “idea bank”; draft and compile documents for IRB submission
- Data Management and Analysis
- Oversee data cleaning (and/or and verify the accuracy of data cleaning) and analyses. Complete appropriate statistical testing (e.g. descriptive and inferential statistics) to identify trends and relationships, complete coding and thematic analysis of qualitative data, and draft summary findings. Analyze and summarize descriptive and bivariate statistics; conduct, interpret, and summarize significance tests; transcribe qualitative data; identify themes and code qualitative data
- Project Organization and Management
- Contribute to management and oversight of RAC projects and ensure that the team meets internal and external deadlines by organizing project content and documenting progress
- Report and Grant Writing
- Compile literature reviews and synthesize information efficiently; identify relevant organizations and sources, etc., for ongoing or upcoming projects; compile supporting graphics, charts, tables, etc.; write report-associated posts for the Impact Justice website; draft grant proposals; edit final drafts of materials
- 4 years of professional training/experience and/or closely-related experience
- At least 3-5 years of experience performing the duties and tasks outlined above
- Demonstrated success in roles of increasing skills, ability, and independence
- Expertise in multiple forms of quantitative and/or qualitative research methods
- Can independently produce efficient and thorough literature reviews
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Excellent personal time management skills - ability to manage and prioritize many tasks across multiple projects
- Extreme reliability and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Positive, solutions-oriented approach to problems
- Expertise in using G-suite/Microsoft Office
- High-level expertise in Excel
- Expertise in one or more areas of the criminal/juvenile legal systems
- Expertise in SPSS, R, or other statistical software
- Able to independently interpret statistical output and summarize both quantitative and qualitative findings
- Highly skilled in presenting data and findings visually, through charts, graphs, etc.
- Able to work independently
- Commitment to employing an intersectional lens during all tasks and projects
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more areas of criminal justice, juvenile justice, school discipline, or foster care reform
- Bilingual: English and Spanish
