Job Description: Lead global sourcing activities for all indirect categories, including, Packaging Materials, Site Spend (MRO, Contractors, Rentals, Janitorial, Uniforms), Professional Services, IT & Telecoms & other Good/Services to improve Flexsys’ position in the market and reduce the total cost of ownership.


Reports To: Head of Indirect Sourcing & Logistics


Job Location: Hybrid – Akron, OH


Travel Required: 10% of time Job Responsibilities:

• Leads and develops global sourcing management activities for the assigned categories with the goal of achieving significant cost reductions & mitigating supply risks while ensuring/ improving product quality and/or supplier service levels.

• Develops and maintains a deep market knowledge comprising the assigned categories

and uses market insights to inform and develop sourcing strategies.

• Review internal stakeholder requsitions to ensure alignment with Sourcing policies and best practices.

• Compiles monthly reporting for Senior Leadership review for Indirect Categories as well as working with Finance Controllers on global utility data reporting

• Actively maintains master data for Sourcing related functions in SAP S/4 Hana, working with 3rd party team to improve systems/processes where necessary

• Conducts supplier selection and negotiation processes utilizing best practices.

• Partner with cross-functional team to ensure suppliers are meeting all negotiated agreements and terms.

• Actively share out progress on initiatives and proactively communicate supply issues and

risk mitigation plans in weekly/monthly update meetings.

• Partner with Demand Planning and fellow Sourcing team members to align on long-

range forecasts to drive effective supply planning and cost negotiations with suppliers.

• Develops and maintains knowledge of and good working relationships, including

partnerships with key suppliers. Applying this supplier’s knowledge is available to inform and develop negotiation strategies for executing sourcing strategies.

• Formalizes service & supply, where appropriate into agreements and contracts.

• Provides insights into commercial & supply chain teams around supply, demand, and pricing

trends in material markets to support decision making.

• Tracks performance within each spend category and defines impact.

• Leads sustainability efforts for the sourcing organization while working in partnership

with internal stakeholders.

• Upholds internal and external policies, regulations, and laws.

Requirements

Education, Experience & Skills


• Bachelor’s degree from an internationally recognized university required; MBA and/or

technical degree in Sourcing/Supply Chain is preferred.

• Minimum 5 years of Indirect Sourcing experience, purchasing of either utilities, packaging (Paperbags, FIBCs, Plastic Pallets, Drums, Totes, etc.), or Indirect Goods & Services preferred.

• SAP & PowerBI experience is required.

• Advanced in Microsoft applications (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

• Self-starter showing strong initiative to learn and drive results through creative thinking

• Experience of working with global cross-functional teams.

• Exceptional negotiation, project management and problem-solving skills required.

• Ability to work collaboratively and support multiple sourcing initiatives

• Strategic mind-set to identify improvement opportunities, with balance of short term and

long-term interests.

• Strong organizational and analytical skills. Proficient communication skills, verbal and

written, in English.
