What We're Looking For

Cross River’s Commercial Banking Group (“CBG”) is looking for a VP, Syndications to lead the team’s syndications efforts with their commercial suite of products, including commercial real estate, construction, lender finance, healthcare, and SBA portfolios. The VP will work with the Capital Markets team to develop and deliver innovative solutions aligned with market conditions and support overall business objectives. 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strategic relationships with institutional investors, banks, and financial partners to expand the firm's real estate syndication network and enhance distribution capabilities
  • Collaborate with origination teams to identify syndication opportunities and determine appropriate hold levels based on market conditions and business objectives
  • Provide expert guidance on real estate loan pricing, terms, and structural considerations to maximize syndication success
  • Structure and position commercial real estate transactions to appeal to targeted investor segments while ensuring compliance with credit policies and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare marketing materials, deal summaries, and term sheets
  • Partner cross-functionally, as well as with external parties, to facilitate transactions
  • Analyze commercial real estate market trends, property fundamentals, and competitor activities to inform syndication strategies and enhance market positioning
  • Present compelling investment opportunities to potential participants, effectively communicating deal merits, risk considerations, and market insights
  • Prepare comprehensive performance reports, business forecasts and market updates for senior management
  • Represent team at industry conferences and investor events
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in commercial real estate finance, with specific expertise in loan syndications, capital markets, or structured finance
  • Established network of institutional investors, banks, and financial partners in the commercial real estate debt space, with proven ability to build and maintain strategic relationships
  • Strong understanding of commercial real estate market fundamentals, credit analysis, deal structuring, banking trends, and regulatory requirements governing syndicated loan transactions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks under tight time constraints
  • Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
  • Willingness to travel

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or a related field preferred
