This position is central to the missionaries' role to 'Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.' Supv, Missionary Order Fulfillment supervises a team of 2-4 students to ensure that correct materials are ordered, packaged, and sent on time to all missionaries located in North America, which may include up to 2000 packages per month. Provide customer service and support for materials questions or missing items. This is a people supervisor role

Responsibilities

  • Reports to the Manager, Scheduling Services1.
  • Supervise the Missionary Materials Team 65%
  • Supervises and trains a team whose responsibilities include and are not limited to:
  • Organizing and reviewing mission debit cards for each missionary.
  • Coordinating with the MTC Store, MTC scheduling, BYU Print, COB Card Services, nametag vendor, and other vendors to receive correct materials for missionaries assigned to begin their home MTC experience within the next month.
  • Ensuring materials received are correct and accurate.
  • Packaging and mailing all materials specific to each missionary.
  • Preparing shipping labels for each package.
  • Transporting all packages to a designated site for courier pick up.
  • Evaluate processes to increase efficiency while maintaining accuracy and suggesting improvements.
  • Manage complex and highly confidential information
  • Supervises the work of other employees (may include mixed workforce)
  • Provides suggestions and recommendations as to the hiring, firing, advancement, promotion or any other change of status of employees under their supervision2.
  • Inventory and Order all Supplies 20%
  • Monitor and maintain office supplies inventory for the Distribution of Missionary Materials team.
  • Coordinate materials from multiple sources.
  • Keep an adequate supply of packaging materials required.
  • Make sure all technology needs are met and working properly and that each team member is trained on how to access/run each program.
  • Order Missionary Nametags and Ministerial certificates 15%
  • Ensure the nametags and ministerial certificates are ordered in advance for each missionary beginning training.
  • Responsible for rush orders for last minute missionary nametags and ministerial certificates.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 2 years of part-time (or volunteer office experience) or 1 year of full-time professional.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Experience with MS office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of Google drive and documents.
  • Excellent social skills, able to operate with diplomacy, tact, and empathy.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and achieve strict deadlines under pressure.
  • To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using monitors/equipment.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • Familiar with metering mail and postage.
