Role:


The Mortgage Loan Administrator assists in all aspects of the mortgage operations process with a thorough understanding of mortgage guidelines, documentation requirements, and compliance laws/regulations. The Mortgage Loan Administrator has a variety of responsibilities including LOS Administration, HMDA data collection and submission, monthly invoice reconciliation, direct vendor contact, post-closing and assisting with Processing, and Closing, as needed. The individual will need strong organizational skills, the ability to multi-task, is an analytical person, and has a critical eye for detail.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

 

 -Responsible for complying with all laws, statues, rules, and regulations which govern the credit union and mortgage process including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, NCUA and CFPB.

- Post-Closing Loan QC: Responsible for quality control for all decisioned files. Duties include, but not limited to, file scrubbing, stacking and gathering of missing documents.

- LOS Administration- Responsible for day to day administration of loan origination system. Duties include, but are not limited to, management of user profiles and access, product set up and maintenance, and third party services.

- Vendor Management: Responsible for management of vendor relationships. Duties include managing day-to-day functionality of vendor products and services.

- Loan Reporting Management- Responsible for management of loan reporting. Duties include data completeness, accuracy, and reporting of same.

- HMDA Management- Responsible for management of HDMA reporting, data completeness, accuracy and reporting.

- In House Portfolio Servicing Management- Responsible for management of servicing of in-house loan portfolio, ensuring all paper and electronic files are complete and accurate, managing escrow accounts and payoff requests, and coordinating with Collections on delinquent accounts.

-Assists with monthly invoice reconciliation, returned mortgage payments, mortgage payoff requests, HE loan servicing, and directs members to subservicer for questions, managing servicing escalations as needed.

- Maintains the systems used to process mortgage loans, including participation in upgrade project teams, and regularly reviews workflows and procedures to ensure efficiency.

- Completes new member boarding

- Maintains Mortgage Pipeline Report daily/weekly as well as Mortgage Department Inbox

- Provides backup support for Processing and Closing functions

- Represent credit union in a professional manner, providing efficient and accurate service.

- Performs other duties as assigned.


Knowledge and Skills:

 

Experience Three years to five years of similar or related experience. 


 

Education (1) A two-year college degree, or (2) completion of a specialized certification or licensing, or (3) completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or (4) job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program. 


 

Interpersonal Skills Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for the purpose of first-level conflict resolution, building relationships, and soliciting cooperation. Discussions involve a higher degree of confidentiality and discretion, requiring diplomacy and tact in communication. 


 

Other Skills Knowledge of different mortgage loan types, mortgage industry regulations, proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial software programs. Good organization and math skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to multi-task and prioritize. 


 

Physical Requirements Position requires frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching at or below shoulder level. Some lifting (less than 50 pounds) is required.
