- Develop a model for providing counseling as a related service for eligible students.
- Coordinate the District's Child Find process and state compliance with state and federal regulations.
- In collaboration with the Office of Special Education and Guidance & Counseling, develop and lead crisis prevention and response efforts at the District and campus levels.
- Build a common vision and coordinate high quality professional development for continuous growth of individual psychological service providers.
- Facilitate the timely referral and evaluation of students, enrolled and not enrolled in the District, for eligibility related to special education services.
- Conducts a needs assessment to determine department needs as a part of a budget planning process.
- Monitor and implement policies for the determination of dyslexia eligibility.
- Maintain testing materials for the identification of special education disability conditions to include dyslexia.
- Interview, recommend, and provide supervision for psychological services staff.
- Monitor compliance of federal and state laws in regard to the delivery of services from the psychological services staff.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Officer for Special Education Programs and Associate Director of Psychological Services.
- Serves as immediate supervisor of school psychologists, LSSP interns, educational diagnosticians, special education counselors, and contracted services' personnel providing services for the District.

The Coordinator serves as the immediate supervisor of the assessment services staff. Provides consultation to the assessment services staff, principals, counselors, teachers, parent(s)/guardian(s) and special education supervisors. They will monitor all evaluations for compliance and accountability. Provides staff development activities for assessment services staff and other school personnel and non-school District personnel and agencies. Shall direct the operations and services of Psychological Services and the delivery of services for students' emotional, behavioral, and learning needs; assist in the integration of special education services with the general education curriculum; and provide expertise to administrators on student and personnel issues.
