Akira is seeking a highly skilled and seasoned Desktop Support Technician to provide top-level Mission VIP and Command Group support for a tenant at Fort Belvoir, VA.  This is a fully onsite position.  The candidate will be responsible for reimages, troubleshooting, hardware/software installs, laptop/desktop installation, and assistance with smart devices, tablets, and other associated peripherals.  They should be very familiar with DoD processes and procedures and be highly experienced operating within a CAC-enforced environment.  This role will operate under minimal supervision and requires superlative Tier I/II problem-solving skills.  

This is an onsite position in Fort Belvoir, VA.  Security clearance of Secret or higher is required.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide desktop support services and respond to and resolve service requests.
  • Provide on-site Desktop Support services for VIP and Command Group.
  • Provide problem resolution services in the areas of laptop, desktop, peripheral, tablets and smart phones.
  • Hardware and software installation and upgrades, troubleshooting, and system configuration.
  • Perform management responsibilities to include on-site monitoring of systems workload, system hardware component installation, configuration and operation.
  • Perform computer imaging and re-imaging
  • Assist with possible after-hours support 
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Four (4+) years of experience performing the duties of a PC Desktop Technician in a DoD CAC-enabled environment, specifically Army, preferred
  • Must be proficient with Windows 11
  • Must be proficient with Office 365
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Experience with ServiceNow IT ticketing systems
  • Must be proficient with utilizing remote support tools
  • Must have strong PC trouble-shooting skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Capable of conveying complex information in a simplistic manner
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision

Other Requirements

  • CompTIA Security+ certification required
  • IAT Level II Certification or equivalent training for use on the Army network
  • High School Diploma or GED or related discipline preferred or have equivalent experience
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must have an Active Secret Clearance


Salary Range:  $65,000 to $85,000
