Payments & Card Services Specialist| Location: 11149 Research Blvd, Austin, Tx 78759| Employment Type: Full-Time| Schedule: Monday–Friday 7:30am-4:00pm or 8:00am-4:30pm 


The Payment & Card Services Specialist ensures the accuracy, integrity, and efficiency of financial transaction processing across ACH, wire, check, and card platforms. This role serves as a liaison between internal teams and members, delivering exceptional service while performing reconciliation and reporting duties. Ideal for candidates who thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and are passionate about accuracy and service excellence. 


What You’ll Do:

  • Balance daily transactions and clearing accounts (e.g., teller, card settlements, tax deposits)
  • Process ACH, wire transfers, chargeback checks, collection items, and stop payments
  • Support ACH, Share Draft, and Wire Services through balancing, file processing, and auditing
  • Assist with card services functions including settlements, disputes, and backup coverage
  • Research and resolve member inquiries regarding account activity, check copies, and statements
  • Resolve clearing discrepancies and collect on incoming/outgoing items
  • Balance general ledger accounts and ensure accurate accounting data entry
  • Provide professional support to members and internal departments via phone, email, and IM
  • Collaborate on projects, audits, and subpoena requests
  • Assist with ATM reconciliation and vendor coordination for ATM fleet maintenance
  • Process debit card maintenance and support VISA fraud and dispute claims
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support department objectives

What You Bring:

  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)
  • 2+ year experience in financial operations, payment processing, or card services in a credit union, bank, or financial institution
  • Proven ability to balance high-volume transaction data and resolve discrepancies
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial/accounting systems
