Function:
Lydia Home Association is a faith-based nonprofit dedicated to strengthening families and serving children in foster care. Through residential treatment, foster care services, preventative programs, and mental health support, we provide safety, healing, and hope to children and families across our community.
The Recruitment Specialist is a key member of Lydia Home’s HR team, responsible for connecting passionate and qualified individuals to career opportunities that make a difference in the lives of children and families. This role is phone-driven — the majority of time will be spent on the phone engaging candidates, building relationships, and promoting Lydia Home’s mission.
The Recruitment Specialist will recruit across all program areas, including mental health professionals, foster care staff and case managers, ensuring Lydia Home continues to be staffed with individuals dedicated to providing high quality care and support.
Responsibilities:
Make a high volume of daily outbound calls to prospective candidates, responding promptly to inquiries and following up consistently.
Actively recruit for a wide range of positions across Lydia Home’s child welfare programs, from clinical and mental health staff to case managers and foster care professionals.
Conduct phone screenings to assess candidate qualifications, interest, and mission alignment.
Maintain an active pipeline of at least 10–15 qualified candidates per key role to ensure timely hiring.
Build and maintain strong candidate pipelines through networking, cold calling, university outreach, and partnerships with professional associations.
Schedule interviews with candidates and hiring managers, confirm attendance, and follow up to ensure candidates attend.
Maintain consistent candidate communication by checking in before interviews and following up afterward to keep engagement strong.
Maintain accurate candidate information in the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and Google Suite.
Provide a welcoming and professional candidate experience, serving as the first voice of Lydia Home.
Review incoming applications and resumes to identify qualified candidates.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
3–5 years of experience in recruiting, sourcing, sales, call center, or customer service roles (experience may substitute for formal education).
Comfortable spending most of the day on the phone, initiating conversations, and engaging with new people.
Strong verbal communication, listening, and relationship-building skills.
Ability to multitask and manage a high volume of calls and candidates.
Proficient in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Calendar) and comfortable navigating computer systems.
Proficiency in Indeed, LinkedIn, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and other online recruiting platforms.
