Position Summary
Assistant Branch Manager will be responsible for assisting in directly overseeing the daily operations of the branch by maintaining a working knowledge of all products, services, and organizational policies/procedures. This role is responsible for providing a high level of quality service while cross-selling bank services, providing employee and customer guidance, demonstrating leadership, facilitating training, and assisting in organizing the branch team schedule.
Essential Responsibilities
- Administer overall branch office operations.
- Assist manager in ensuring staff understands and adheres to policies and procedures relevant to their particular job.
- Motivate and coach staff to promote sales goals and objectives.
- Maintain and expand existing customer and business banking relationships.
- Ensure excellent customer service skills are practiced by all teller and new accounts staff.
- Proactively lead by example in the areas of office professionalism and team spirited work environment.
- Review branch staff for performance evaluations and recommend salary adjustments.
- Oversee teller and new account opening duties.
- Perform teller and new accounts duties when needed.
- Stay educated and familiar with all deposit, business and consumer loan products and services.
- Verify accuracy of sales tracking.
- Attend and actively participate in monthly branch sales and operations meetings.
- Perform duties and responsibilities of the branch manager in their absence.
- Participate in community involvement.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by Supervisor.
Competencies & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One to two years’ experience in a financial institution preferred.
- Management experience preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Good written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of MS Office products.
- Ability to proactively solicit new business.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- New accounts and IRA experience preferred.
