Duties

As a Supervisory Management and Program Analyst, you will perform the following duties: Creating and administering goals and objectives; developing and prescribing procedures and techniques; and providing policy guidance to employees related to program budget and/or finance activities. Establishing unit objectives, goals, priorities and deadlines, creating plans to meet workload changes. Making decisions and resolving problems involving interpretation of the law, and application of DHS policy. Ensuring department personnel policies are observed; resolving complaints and grievances and making recommendations. Actively participating in conferences, meetings, hearings and/or presentations.

Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Minimum Qualification requirements as noted below. AND Minimum Qualifications: Specialized Experience: GS-15: Applicant must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the GS-14 level in the Federal service that included experience such as: Serving as an expert in applying analytical and evaluative methods to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of policies, and developing and implementing immediate and long-range planning in response to policy and legislative requirements, as it relates to program budget and/or finance activities. Setting annual and long-range work plans and schedules for accomplishing work aligned to strategic objectives. Serving as a project leader responsible for conducting broad nationwide studies/evaluations. Recommending solutions to sensitive, controversial, and critical issues affecting national programs. Promotion Potential: This position is at the full performance level. Supervisory Probationary Period: This is a supervisory position. Under provisions of the Civil Service Reform Act, first time supervisors and/or managers will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period. You may also be required to complete an appropriate supervisory training course within one year of assignment to this position.
